āAdventist education is about helping our students find and follow Jesus, grow in that relationship and offer the best possible education we can provide. We have to stay cutting edge in every one of those aspects.ā
āI am very passionate about Adventist Christian education. I consider it an ACE. It has to be Adventist. It has to be Christian. And it has to be an Education. If itās none of those or any part of those are missing, we have a problem.ā
āI learned that a little blaze of fire (pennies) can create a giant fire! I also learned that we didnāt just put pennies into a jar. We also put in love, compassion, and life savings. It was all done to help another school.ā
āIt feels nice to know that someone cares about us as a person and not just as a student.ā
āYouāre not just clocking in 9-5, you know. I love the students, just being with them. Especially in a Christian school you have a chance to actually be involved in their thinking, their morals, their Bible, how they view God.ā
āWhenever an artist is being inspired to paint a landscape, theyāre being inspired by God as an artist. Thatās one thing that makes me really excited about teaching here at a SDA school is that I can approach a project in that way.ā
āI believe that God is calling me to an in-depth, in-reach ministry, and thatās the classroom. I get the opportunity to look them in the eye, to see the questions, to figure it out and answer it together.ā
āSLA is an awesome place, because of the fully-rounded education that you get at SLA--which includes the God part, the most important part--can and does result in a great education coming out of SLA and positions people to succeed in all facets of life.ā
āThe school feels like family! All the teachers know and engage with my children, even if they havenāt had them in their class. Because itās a small school the students get lots of one-on-one attention and all can participate in sports or music, not just the top 10%.ā
